FUNGAL MANIFESTO

Fungi are transformative agents. They help rebalance humans and nature. Let's change the world, together with fungi! The Fungal Manifesto is a biotechnological-artistic manifesto that sees fungi as our fellow creatures and agents for a sustainable future. Microbiologist and artist Vera Meyer and sculptor and biotechnologist Phil Ross are pioneers of a DIY movement to bring fungal biotechnology into our everyday lives. Soon, not only medicines but also building materials, leather and even houses will be made from fungi. To give the fungi an equal voice in the film, we specifically used Chat GPT and AI image software for the illustrations. The film was made by Oliver Päßler & Robert Quante for the exhibition ‘Fungi in Art & Science’ 2023/24 at the Nobel Prize Institute in Stockholm.
